I think everyone who has stayed at the CLC Regal Oaks Resort would agree that it deserves a higher rating than just the 3 stars that’s stated on Google (Although on Expedia, it’s rated 4 stars). This townhome style resort has a home away from home feeling, which is much more appealing than crowding a family in one hotel room with 1 bathroom. It’s located in Kissimmee Florida, along 3 large lakes which glistens upon sunrise. The first impression is a tranquil ambience coupled with friendly staff, and entertaining amenities. The elegance of the resort will have you feeling like you are at a 5 star resort for a 3 star price.
Upon arrival at CLC Regal Oaks Resort, you will be greeted by a security guard who mans the front gate. That’s right, it is a gated resort; meaning not just anyone can enter the vicinity. When you check in, you will be given a gate code for leaving and entering the area, giving you the freedom to go and return as you please.
The gated community is so large that each townhome has it’s own home address and neighbourhood. Our townhome address was 2614 corvette lane.

Let’s breakdown the townhome I chose. It had:
2 full bathrooms
1 half bathroom
a full kitchen
private patio; fenced with a completely covered tent-style screen to keep out pesky bugs
washer and dryer (with laundry detergent)
my personal favourite; a private hot tub, so you can soak away your sore muscles anytime you want
During our stay, I loved how we were able to save money by grocery shopping at Walmart, and cooking in our full kitchen (not a kitchenette; a FULL kitchen). Our kitchen was complete with a dishwasher, pots, pans, a toaster, a blender, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, dish soap, you name it; it’s there! We took advantage of our full kitchen, mainly for breakfasts, and were able to save a few hundred dollars rather than going out to eat everyday.
The luxurious open concept living room had an extra pull out couch, and floor to ceiling glass sliding doors overlooking our private patio. But don’t worry, the place also has blackout curtains everywhere; perfect if you want some privacy.
The bedrooms were located upstairs. Each bedroom was equipped with ample storage and drawer space, and each had it’s own full bathroom. The master bedroom had a safe, so you can lock away anything of value while you are out. The resort also has townhomes featuring 3 or 4 bedrooms with up to 3 bathrooms, catered for larger groups.
Each townhome has it’s own wifi with it’s own unique password, which means, you and whoever is staying with you, are the only ones who have access to that wifi connection.
My stay at CLC Regal Oaks Resort was superb to say the least. I stayed with my husband and my parents, and there was probably enough space for another 5-6 people. That’s how much space we had! I chose this resort because of it’s location, but also because it had multiple rooms. I could have privacy from my parents, especially since my dad snores SO loud. All of these amenities make it perfect for larger groups and families. Oh, and did I mention that each townhome is air conditioned?
Don’t you just hate it when some resorts charge $30-$40 parking per night, per vehicle!? You don’t need to worry about that at CLC World Regal Oaks Resorts, because they don’t charge you at all; it’s free! In fact, there are 3 reserved parking spots for each townhome. Of course, my family and I only used one spot, but it’s nice to have those extra spots for groups who have more than one vehicle.
Aside from the actual townhomes, the resort itself offers an outdoor heated pool, a business centre, a tennis court, 3 lakes, a fitness facility, a bar&grill restaurant, and a mini market. If you spend time at the outdoor heated pool, you will see a large patio equipped with comfortable sun chairs, overlooking the main lake. There’s also a pool bar for your convenience. The resort also includes a kid’s club and mini waterslide park for those who need a break from their children.
One reason why I chose to stay at Regal Oaks was because of it’s location. Here is a list of the resort’s distance from attractions.
25 minute drive from MCO Orlando International Airport (20 miles; 32.2 kilometres)
Disney/Universal Theme Parks
10-15 minute drive to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park (6 miles; 9.7 kilometres)
15 minute drive to Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park (8 miles; 12.8 kilometres)
15 minute drive to Disney’s Epcot and Hollywood Park (8 miles; 12.8 kilometres)
20 minute drive to Universal Studios (13 miles; 20.9 kilometres)
Stores and Restaurants
5 minute drive to Walgreens and Walmart (3 miles; 4.8 kilometres)
2-5 minute drive to restaurants such as: Mcdonalds, Ihop, Oriental Buffet, Ichiban Buffet, Dunkin’ Donuts, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Panera Bread, Kobe Steakhouse (all within 1-3 miles; 1-5 kilometres)
2 minute drive from gas stations and a 7-11 (less than 1 mile)
5 minute walk to Old Town Theme park (less than 1 mile)
Disclaimer: All of these distances are my closest estimates. Distances depend on the route you take and amount of traffic.
Overall, I loved this resort. I kept on telling my husband that “I wish our home was like this in Vancouver.” The resort was clean, well maintained, and modern looking. I felt safe knowing that the land was gated and secured; I felt comfortable with the amount of space we had; and I felt welcomed being surrounded by friendly staff. I definitely recommend staying at CLC World Regal Oaks Resort for anyone planning to visit Orlando.
