“Welcome to Miami, Bienvenido a Miami!” -Miami by Will Smith
I think the lyrics of the “Miami” song flawlessly depicts the aura of Miami, Florida. A party city; where people from every ethnic background are welcome to bask in the heat from the sun. From having lunch at an outdoor patio, to drinking cold beverages at the beach, the city of Miami offers a lively and upbeat vibe which instantly puts you in a radiant mood.
When you arrive at the Royal Palm Resort, you will be promptly attended by a staff and doorman who will direct you to the front desk. Now, immediately as you enter (I want to ensure that I don’t forget to mention this), you will notice a very pleasant and delightful scent which automatically made me say “It smells so good in here!”
Checking in was a breeze. We wanted to settle into a room asap, but we arrived quite early. Still, the man at the front desk assigned us a room that was better than what we had originally paid for. No customer service complaints here!
The retro style room featured:
polished white tile flooring; different from the usual carpet that we’re used to
a comfortable king size bed
a stylish bathroom
floor to ceiling windows over looking beautiful south beach (with blackout curtains)
a mini bar stocked with drinks and snacks
a mini fridge
a safe to lock valued belongings
hair dryer and iron with ironing board
an extra large flat screen TV (I’m not sure how many inches :P)
a sitting area and table

Other amenities include two outdoor pools, a poolside bar and restaurant, a gym, a bar and cafe, a private patio style sitting area, a small boutique store, and they also offer Zumba classes, in the pool! But the best feature? **Drum roll** Direct access to the beach!!!
A part of South Beach is sectioned off for Royal Palm Resort patrons only. Each room is entitled to two free sun chairs, which they assemble for you upon request. The beach is literally about 10-15 steps away from the resort building, and what makes it even sweeter, is you can maintain access to the free wifi connection, even on the beach!
As mentioned, the resort is located in the heart of South Beach, Miami. But there’s also more to it’s location than just the beach. It is only steps away from Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road, where you can find dozens of patio style restaurants (some even offer hookah w/ dinner), and stores to shop at, like the Lincoln Road Mall. Miami International Airport is a 30 minute drive, roughly about 13 miles.
My stay at The Royal Palm Resort was such a blast, that my husband and I are currently thinking of moving to Miami. Although, living in Miami and vacationing in Miami are two different things, but we’ll explore our options!
